Based on the novel by Maupassant, an erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction which chronicles the rise of Georges Duroy from poverty into the beau monde of 1890’s Paris.
After returning from the war, George (Robert Pattinson), a cash-strapped soldier, travels to Paris and manipulates some of the city’s most influential and affluent women to climb up the social and financial ladder. Duroy uses his charm and sexual prowess to seduce these women to escape poverty and eventually gain power.
